I got these for my Dad and myself when I was working with him at a custom machine shop. The place is always loud with high speed cutters, pounding from heavy trip hammers etc... These cut down the noise enough to hear the music comfortably. Came with three sets of earpieces so you can always use a clean pair.
They do take a bit of getting used to but for anyone who uses earplugs the learning curve will not be very steep at all.
Most of the time I use them at the highest "volume" on the in line volume control. I find that it does not help much but is an interesting feature. So far they've held up well, thought I've not used them a whole lot.
Everybody complains that the bass is "muddy" and "weak" but the pair I got sound fine. I did adjust the equalizer settings on my Sansa Clip that I use these with and that makes things sound just fine as far as I'm concerned. NO they are NOT audiophile quality, but they definitely make music enjoyment possible where otherwise it would be impossible, That and they provide good hearing protection!
Definitely recommended for anyone working in loud environments.
